TFW Named Best Non Music Festival!
We’re honored and humbled to be informed that Texas Frightmare Weekend has been named Best Non Music Festival by the Dallas Observer!
Texas Frightmare Weekend is an annual horror convention that takes place in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, and is celebrating its 13th year as “The Southwest’s Premier Horror Convention.”
Texas Frightmare Weekend’s goal is to offer fans an unrivaled experience by celebrating all aspects of genre films. The event hosts celebrity appearances, autograph signings, screenings, exclusive parties and horror memorabilia vendors from all over the country. The event is also extremely proud to have featured the rising talents of many Texas “Frightmakers” in screenings, panel discussions, and Q & A sessions.
After humble beginnings at the tiny Grapevine Convention Center in Grapevine, TX, TFW (as it has begun to be called by attendees) is arguably the largest horror convention in the nation. The event brings thousands of attendees annually and has hosted genre legends such as Ernest Borgnine, Danny Trejo, George A. Romero, Clive Barker, Malcolm McDowell, Robert Englund, John Carpenter, Roger Corman, Tobe Hooper, Cary Elwes, Norman Reedus, and hundreds more.
In 2012 the event moved to the Hyatt Regency inside the DFW to make room for its growing fan base. The new venue provides 93,000 square feet of event space (compared to the Grapevine Convention Center at 23,500 square feet) and 800 rooms.
