Caroline Munro, Dan Haggerty Added!

The gorgeous Caroline Munro played the role of Vincent Price's dead wife in The Abominable Dr. Phibes and Dr. Phibes Rises Again which, in turn, led to a Hammer Studios contract in Dracula A.D. 1972 with Christopher Lee and Captain Kronos – Vampire Hunter.

More noticeable roles came outside the studio as the slave girl/love interest in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, the princess in At the Earth's Core, and a lethal Bond girl in the top-notch The Spy Who Loved Me, one of Roger Moore's best outings in the '007' series. She also had roles in Starcrash, the 80's slash-fest Maniac co-starring Joe Spinell and Slaughter High.

We proudly welcome a screening of Gary Jones' AXE GIANT: THE WRATH OF PAUL BUNYAN and star Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams, himself!), who joins our ever-growing list of top horror celebrities descending upon The Hyatt Regency DFW!

Rue Morgue's First Feature Screening at TFW 2013

Texas Frightmare Weekend is proud of our association with event sponsor Rue Morgue magazine. That's why we're excited to announce that we'll present a special screening of Rue Morgue magazine publisher turned filmmaker RODRIGO GUDIÑO’s spooky first feature The Last Will And Testament Of Rosalind Leigh.

The Last Will And Testament Of Rosalind Leigh tells the story of Leon (Aaron Poole), an antiques collector who inherits a house from his estranged mother Rosalind (Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave) only to discover that she had been living in a shrine devoted to a mysterious cult of angels. As night falls, Leon comes to suspect that his mother’s oppressive spirit still lingers within her home and is using items in the house to contact him with an urgent message. Multiple-award winning filmmaker Rodrigo Gudiño has crafted a terrifying new film with a strikingly original narrative technique that looks at the psychology of ghosts.

You can watch the new The Last Will And Testament Of Rosalind Leigh trailer below. For news and updates, join The Last Will And Testament Of Rosalind Leigh on Facebook.

The Last Will And Testament Of Rosalind Leigh will screen Saturday, May 4th at 6:00 pm at Texas Frightmare Weekend. This screening is FREE for weekend and Friday passholders, and will conveniently take place at The Hyatt Regency DFW – the home of Texas Frightmare Weekend!

Three IFC Midnight Titles Screening at TFW!

Texas Frightmare Weekend is back with a vengeance May 3rd through the 5th, offering up more celebrity guests, more vendors, and the continuation of its wildly popular free film screenings to all TFW passholders! And this year, TFW is monstrously proud to pack our sleepless Saturday night with trio of high-profile new shockers from our friends at IFC Films and IFC Midnight.

On Saturday, May 4th, Texas Frightmare Weekend kicks off their powerful threefer of hotly-anticipated chillers with the Texas Premiere of Franck Khalfoun’s Maniac at 8:00PM! In this brutal, unrelenting, first-person remake of William Lustig’s 1980 classic, Frank (Elijah Wood) is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna (Nora Arnezeder) appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed his long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill. Maniac will see US distribution through IFC Midnight on June 21st in theaters and via cable and digital VOD.

At 10:00PM is Ben Wheatley’s Sightseers, his genre-defying follow-up to 2012’s Kill List, produced by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead). Chris (Steve Oram) wants to show Tina (Alice Lowe) his world and he wants to do it his way – on a journey through the British Isles in his beloved Abbey Oxford Caravan. Tina’s led a sheltered life and there are things that Chris needs her to see – the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the rolling countryside that separates these wonders in his life. But it doesn’t take long for the dream to fade. Litterbugs, noisy teenagers and pre-booked caravan sites, not to mention Tina’s meddling mother, soon conspire to shatter Chris’s dreams and send him, and anyone who rubs him the wrong way, over a very jagged edge. Sightseers will see US distribution through IFC Films on May 10th in theaters and through Video On Demand.

And at midnight, TFW’s serving up the Texas Premiere of Neil Jordan’s Byzantium, the acclaimed Interview with the Vampire director’s long-awaited return to the land of the undead! Eleanor (Saoirse Ronan) is a precocious girl with a bent for storytelling. A natural introvert, her idea of a good time is to put pen to paper and reflect on her inner life. Her “sister” Clara (Gemma Arterton) is the complete opposite: extroverted and sexual, she struts around in stilettos and skin-tight garb, attracting hungry male gazes wherever she goes. Both carry secrets from deep in their shared past — all 200 years of it. Byzantium will see US distribution through IFC Films during the Summer of 2013.

Saturday’s free screenings are courtesy of IFC Films and IFC Midnight, free for weekend and Saturday passholders, and will conveniently take place at The Hyatt Regency DFW – the home of Texas Frightmare Weekend!

Lords of Salem!

Meg Foster (THEY LIVE), Judy Geeson (HORROR PLANET) and Patricia Quinn (ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW) join Dee Wallace (E.T., THE HOWLING) at Texas Frightmare Weekend for a special celebration of Rob Zombie’s upcoming novel and film LORDS OF SALEM.

PLUS! All VIP Pass-holders will want to check out their Goodie Bags at the show as they will all contain a copy of Rob’s novelization of the film SIGNED by ROB ZOMBIE himself!

THE LORDS OF SALEM (Grand Central Publishing; On-Sale: March 12, 2013; ISBN: 9781455519170; 336 pages; $26.99) is horror maestro Rob Zombie’s first original horror story since the great The Devil’s Rejects and is sure to deliver exactly what his fans have been waiting for. Zombie’s diehard fans will be rabid about THE LORDS OF SALEM—a chilling plunge into a nightmare world where evil runs in the blood—which is based on the original screenplay of the same title by Zombie and written with multiple award-winning horror author B.K. Evenson.

THE LORDS OF SALEM will be released as a full-length film on April 19th, 2013—five weeks after the book’s publication.
Written and directed by Zombie, this will be his first original film since 2005’s beloved The Devil’s Rejects. “The book offers a different experience from the film since it can obviously go into much more detail,” states Zombie. “The book and film really complement each other.” The film is relentlessly eerie while the book goes into far more narrative detail and character back story, and also has a significantly higher body count than the film.
