We’re excited to announce Buck Taylor and Kelly Lintz for their first ever convention appearances at Texas Frightmare Weekend!

Born the son of a famous Hollywood actor, Buck Taylor grew up on movie sets, watching his father, celebrated actor Dub Taylor, appear with such movie greats as John Wayne, Tex Ritter and Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Since his first feature film role in 1963, Buck has worked nonstop for more than forty years with roles in such films as Tombstone, The Alamo and Grand Champion. Buck is best remembered for his eight-year run as Newly on Gunsmoke.

Horror fans will best remember his character of Ambrose Cornell in Stephen King’s The Mist.

Kelly Lintz has been a professional actor for more than 20 years appearing in over 30 national and regional commercials. In 2005-06, she appeared in 10 episodes of the NBC prime time show Surface. In 2007-08, Ms. Lintz appeared as “Alice” in the CW nationally syndicated hit TV show One Tree Hill. In 2007 she appeared in Stephen King’s The Mist, having a chance to work opposite Thomas Jane playing his ill-fated wife who is discovered trapped in a spider’s web near the end of the film. Kelly most recently was cast in the Lionsgate film The Hunger Games due out March 23, 2012.

Jennifer Runyon appeared in the very first scene of Ghosbusters as Venkman’s ESP test subject. For 1980′s To All a Goodnight, directed by the late David Hess (Last House on the Left), she was stalked by a maniacal killer in a Santa Claus costume. She also appeared in uncle-in-law Roger Corman’s CARNOSAUR. Some may also know Runyon from her 18 episode stint on Charles in Charge.

“How Independent Press has Changed Horror Fiction.”
New technology has allowed small and independent publishing houses to flourish in the land of corporate giants. Where a giant company may not take a risk on an unknown author or subject matter that’s way outside the mainstream, small and independent press can take that risk while bringing new and exciting ideas to the public.

Eric Beebe is the owner/founder of Post Mortem Press. Post Mortem Press has released over 30 novels and anthologies. They have published well known authors like Jack Ketchum, Jonathan Maberry, F Paul Wilson, and Joe Schreiber, along with up-and-coming authors like Paul Anderson, Brad Carter, Kenneth W. Cain, and Joseph Williams and many many more.

CARRIE Reunion!

P.J. Soles was among the hundreds of actors auditioning for Brian De Palma and George Lucas in their joint casting session for Carrie and Star Wars. John Carpenter cast her for his film Halloween after seeing Carrie. He wrote the part of Lynda especially for her because of the way she said the word “totally.”

P.J. starred in Rock ‘n’ Roll High School  also starring TFW 2012 guest Clint Howard and the Ramones. Next she filmed Private Benjamin and then Stripes with Bill Murray.

A trained singer and dancer, Betty Buckley made her professional bow on the musical stage. Betty’s first film was Carrie, in which she played the tough girl’s gym coach whose punishment of Carrie’s tormentors set the plot in motion. One year after Carrie, she replaced the late Diana Hyland on the popular TV “dramedy” Eight is Enough, playing the stepmother of a eight-kid brood. Always on the lookout for an opportunity to sing, Betty played a Tammy Wynette-style country western star in 1983′s Tender Mercies. Horror fans may also remember her role as Mrs. Jones in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Happening.
