Skerritt turned up again in another thriller playing a cop hunting a serial killer with Christopher Walken in Stephen King’s eerie The Dead Zone, as a Navy Officer Flight instructor in Top Gun and in Steel Magnolias. Skerritt didn’t neglect his TV background and reappeared on the small screen in Cheers, The China Lake Murders and picked up an Emmy in 1994 for his performance as Sheriff Brock in the series Picket Fences.
He also appeared in Stephen King’s Desperation alongside Ron Perlman, Poltergeist III with TFW 2012 guest Nancy Allen and alongside Bruce Willis in the mercenary war drama Tears of the Sun.

In her early career, Veronica Cartwright was cast in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds. Another childhood role included “Jemima Boone” in the popular television series Daniel Boone, which ran from 1964 to 66. On television, she appeared twice as Lumpy’s younger sister, “Violet Rutherford” and once as “Peggy MacIntosh” on Leave It to Beaver and had a small role in the television movie Still the Beaver.
Of paramount interest to horror fans, she appeared in the 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh, Mirror, Mirror 2: Raven Dance, Nightmares with Emilio Estevez and the horror classic Alien in the role of Lambert.
