The Legendary Roger Corman Joins TFW 2011!

December 24, 2010

We're truly honored to announce that Roger Corman will join us for the southwest's premiere horror convention and film festival!

His influence on modern American cinema is almost incalculable. In 2009, he was honored with an Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement. As producer of over 390 films, Mr. Corman has given cinematic starts to young directors, actors, writers and creators like Ron Howard, James Cameron, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Jack Nicholson, James Cameron, Robert De Niro, Peter Bogdanovich, Joe Dante and Sandra Bullock.

Roger Corman

Please note that Roger Corman will be in attendance all three days. However, his signing schedule for this engagement will be extremely limited. Please check back as we will announce his complete schedule closer to the show.

Roger Corman appearance brought to you by Anchor Bay's Sharktopus (available NOW for pre-order!)

It is known as S-11, a diabolical hybrid of shark and octopus created by genetic scientist Nathan Sands (Oscar®-nominee Eric Roberts of THE EXPENDABLES and THE DARK KNIGHT) as the U.S. Navy's next super-weapon. But when its control implants are damaged during a training experiment, the beast escapes to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a taste of sun, sand, bikini babes, jet-skiers, spring breakers and beyond. Now a hotshot mercenary, an investigative reporter, and Sand's biomechanical engineer daughter must stop a creature like none ever witnessed before: It has superior intelligence. It attacks without warning. And it likes to snack on bungee jumpers. Kerem Bursin and Sara Malakul Lane co-star with a hilarious cameo by legendary producer Roger Corman in the unforgettable Syfy Original Movie about the 8-tentacled eating machine called SHARKTOPUS!

We're also happy to announce documentary filmmaker Michael Felsher to Texas Frightmare Weekend. Felsher and his company, Red Shirt Pictures, is responsible for over 40 documentaries you've seen on the special features of DVD's and Blu-Rays like Maniac, Night of the Creeps, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Pumpkinhead, Hellraiser, The Monster Squad, Survival of the Dead and more.

Felsher will also helm our first Frightmakers 101 class of 2011. Stay tuned for info on how to register for his class on Documentary Filmmaking!

Most recently, he contributed documentaries for the release's of Roger Corman's Death Race 2000, Not of this Earth, Twice Dead and Galaxy of Terror.

WORLD PREMIERE SCREENING of POSSUM WALK

November 11, 2010

Texas Frightmare Weekend and Horrorphile Entertainment invite you to the premier screening of Possum Walk!

In small towns like Possum Walk, secrets can be hard to keep. For Faith Carpenter, her secret could be downright deadly: She's pregnant...and a virgin. Her father-a local preacher with dark, violent secrets of his own-tightens his grip on her, driving a wedge between them. But both of them will have to put aside their differences to deal with the darkest secret Possum Walk has ever known: a serial killer who has chosen the little town to be his bloodiest venue yet.

The red carpet screening will be Thursday December 9, 2010 from 7-10 p.m. at Studio Movie Grill Arlington (225 Merchants Row, Arlington, TX 76018).

This is a free screening! Seating is limited so make sure to send your R.S.V.P. to horrorphileentertainment@yahoo.com. Any remaining seats will be on a first come basis. Cast and crew will be in attendance for the red carpet as well as a Q&A following the screening. Horrorphile Entertainment and Texas Frightmare Weekend will also supply audience giveaways.
