Thanks to TFW's hearlded Bruce Campbell event back in October of '08; I not only got a taste of what a TFW event can be like; but, was introduced to the Dallas Comic-Con people. I've now attended several of their events.
Now, shouldn't TFW and SF expo get together more often? How 'bout it Loyd...Noel???
Awaiting your reply...

Were the right situation to present itself again, I'm sure it's something Loyd and the Sci-Fi Expo folks would readily entertain.

We certainly have a presence at every show. Sometimes it's just me, Noel and his gaggle of mannequin serial killers though.
Mark at Sci Fi Expo and I talk frequently about collaborating again. Unfortunately, there hasn't been a real opportunity pop up like it did when we brought in Bruce.

Well, I'm certain that there are plenty of horror actors/actress & filmmakers who could be tempted to make the journey to Plano or Richardson to meet and greet there fans during those DCC dates; like a Michael Berryman; or a Tom Savini...
Just a thought.

I've wondered about this as well.
If not a full on collaboration maybe bringing in 2 or 3 guest to the various shows they do each year maybe?

Either way I think would be really cool and promote both shows. It looked like the Bruce Campbell thing was a huge hit! It would be really cool though since you have a booth at their shows anyway to bring in a guest to help promote. Same thing at your shows I always see Mark there so they could do the same. Not saying like a big name like Bruce Campbell or anything like that but maybe a Friday the 13th or Halloween guest. It would sure be a hit with the media fans at their shows!

I think the reason Bruce is always so big at both kinds of events is because he is someone who has cross-genre appeal. There are really not a TON of people that appeal so equally to horror fans and sci-fi fans as BC. Lance Henriksen would be the closest that I can think of, but as big a fan of his other films as I am, the horror stuff is what I love the most.

Oh, there are plenty of actors who are cross over...Just last year, Tony Todd was a guest for their Sci Fi Expo; and he was a big hit with the fans...
The is just a jumping off point; but, I think some guests from SciFi Expo could definitely do TFW; for instance: Nana Vistor. Known to horror fans as the "NEW" Mrs Voorhees in the F13 remake...Known to SF fans as Major Kira of DS9.
Think 'bout it guys...This would make for some cool events!
