From the twisted games of Jigsaw to the characters that defined the series, this trio helped turn SAW into a modern horror phenomenon.

TOBIN BELL

Tobin Bell is the legendary face and voice of John Kramer — Jigsaw. His chilling, philosophical performance became the backbone of the SAW franchise, appearing across multiple films and making Jigsaw one of the most iconic villains in horror history. Bell’s commanding presence and haunting delivery turned the series into a global phenomenon.

SHAWNEE SMITH

Fan-favorite Shawnee Smith portrayed Amanda Young, one of the most complex and tragic characters in the SAW universe. First introduced as a survivor, Amanda evolved into one of the franchise’s most unforgettable figures, appearing in several sequels and becoming a defining part of the series’ mythology.

LEIGH WHANNELL

Leigh Whannell is one of the creative forces behind SAW. He co-created the franchise, co-wrote the original film, and starred as Adam, one of the two men trapped in the infamous bathroom in SAW (2004). Whannell later became a powerhouse horror filmmaker in his own right, directing and writing modern genre hits including Insidious: Chapter 3, Upgrade, and The Invisible Man (2020).

TOM ATKINS

A true horror icon, Tom Atkins is beloved for his unforgettable performances in some of the genre’s most influential films. He starred as Dr. Dan Challis in Halloween III: Season of the Witch, as well as fan favorites The Fog, Night of the Creeps, Creepshow, and Escape from New York. With his tough-guy charm and everyman charisma, Atkins became one of the defining faces of 1980s horror and remains a fan favorite to this day.

STACEY NELKIN

Stacey Nelkin is best known for her role as Ellie Grimbridge in Halloween III: Season of the Witch, where she played the courageous and clever heroine at the heart of the film’s eerie mystery. Her performance helped make Season of the Witch a cult classic that continues to grow in popularity with every new generation of horror fans.

TOMMY LEE WALLACE

Director, writer, and all-around horror legend, Tommy Lee Wallace directed and co-wrote Halloween III: Season of the Witch and went on to direct the original IT (1990) miniseries and Fright Night Part 2. He also played a crucial role in the original Halloween (1978) as production designer and editor — and even stepped into the Michael Myers mask for several key scenes, including the famous closet and door-smashing moments. Wallace also created the iconic Michael Myers mask itself, making his impact on the Halloween franchise truly legendary.

ALAN HOWARTH

Alan Howarth is an acclaimed film composer and sound designer best known for his longtime collaboration with director John Carpenter. Together, they created some of horror cinema’s most iconic scores, including music for Halloween II, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Escape from New York, Big Trouble in Little China, and They Live.
